“BLACK LIVES MATTER” FOR REAL. THIS IS NOT SOUTH FLORIDA OR ARIZONA OR TEXAS THIS IS HARLEM THE BLACK CAPITAL OF THE WORLD, THE MECCA. WITH ALL WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH BEING THE EPICENTER OF COVID 19 – MEMORIES ARE SHORT, PEOPLE ARE SELFISH, UNCONSCIOUS, AND IMPACTED BY THREE VIRUS, COVID 19, THE PATHOLOGY OF RACISM AND THE PATHOLOGY OF IGNORANCE. ALL THREE HAVE ARE SUBJECT TO THE UNDERLYING COMMON DENOMINATOR SYSTEMIC RACISM.
FYI as per last month here are the approximate numbers of people who died of Covid 19 by a few Harlem Zip codes: 10027 – 700 People, 10037 – 750 People and 10031 – 1,350 People. These deathSs are all Black and Brown People in our neighborhood so this is real – do the Math. If you have been watching the news it is evident that by their practices of not social distancing and not wearing mask the numbers in South Florida, Texas, Arizona and California are up and it is impacting younger folks in the 20 – 40 age range. The media is the message and “the Revolution Will Not Be Televised it is Live”, right here on Harlem Network News – SO WAKE UP MY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE.
SHAME ON YOU CORNER SOCIAL – YES WE ARE CALLING YOU OUT – We take issue with you Corner Social not following the rules of the laws of re-opening for Phase II. We have tried to reach the Owner, Manager, 311 and the 28th Precinct to understand why you are not followings rules – all were unresponsive. it’s a matter of Black and Brown life and death here in Harlem. “Black Lives Matter”. Mayor DeBlasio we expect you to enforce the law as our lives depend on it. SHAME ON YOU CORNER SOCIAL for allowing mass gatherings, not requiring social distancing and the wearing of mask on your premises. You are endangering your patrons and your staff, a majority of whom are Black and Brown. No joke we were the hardest hit due to co-mobidities i.e. diabetes, heart conditions, asthma, living conditions, poor medical care and food deserts etc.
CORNER SOCIAL as a business that has profited and done well serving a majority Black and Brown Customers you of all businesses should be the embodiment of Black Lives Matter for real – don’t just talk the talk – you should be leading by good example. Yes it does get down to Black and Brown and a question of Race based on the science of the death rate in our community. Obviously you don’t get it. So what are the next steps as you are a licensed business by the state and city. We demand you cease and desist your poor practices and take your knee off the neck of your patrons and staff for your own economic gain. With your current practices CORNER SOCIA IS A DEATH TRAP for the Harlem Community and New York City. Sounds harsh, not nice; well just a month ago our Funeral Homes here in Harlem were holding bodies in refrigerator trucks and receiving 50 bodies in 48 hour and the deceased were being sent to “Potters Field in Mass Graves – that’s harsh and not nice for real.
To my Black and Brown Brothers and Sisters I am calling you out – all of you who choose to patronize Corner Social as they encourage you to come on in the outside business as usual and not social distance and not where mask and to gather in large groups – WAKE UP – YOU “GOT” THE VIRUS THE THIRD VIRUS BAD “THE PATHOLOGY OF IGNORANCE”. LOVE YOUR SELF A BIT MORE AND SHOW SOME GOOD CIVIC QUALITIES, STOP BEING IN DENIAL – YOU ARE NOT DONALD TRUMP – YOU ARE BETTER AND SMARTER THAN THAT. LEAD BY GOOD EXAMPLE.
LET’S STOP THE VIOLENCE – 63 People died in NYC of the July 4th weekend. On Saturday, July 4th about 9 PM a Brother was stabbed between Corner Social and Babbalucci’s on the sidewalk – all part of the melee and the crowd – “it probably was not news worthy” – Black on Black Crime rarely is – we have got to do better to Police ourselves – SLAVERY AND SLAVE MENTALITY IS OBVIOUSLY NOT OVER.
